WordCamp Asia 2024
WordCamp Asia is the flagship conference for WordPress in Asia. Held in Taipei, Taiwan, I was one of the organizers for the 2024 edition of the conference, as part of the design team.
As a member of the design team, I was able to be a hands-on designer and leaned on my experience in branding, print design, user experience and web design. I collaborated with a multi-national team with members based in Japan and Taiwan. I utilized my versatile skillset to work on various tasks, including the website, badges, social media and printed signages, while adhering to the overall visual style. Due to my experience in both print and digital work, I’ve often filled in when some of my teammates weren’t available.
The following are some of the assets I worked on:
Badges
Organizers and Sponsors Board
Floor Stickers
Website
Livestream Graphics
Social Media Graphics
Insights:
I’ve worked with many diverse teams in the past but this was the first time I joined meetings that were done in 3 different languages. It was a challenge, but having a team determined to work together (plus the use of online translation tools) helped a lot with the language barrier. Having the right people with versatile skill sets and a collaborative mindset is key for teams like these.
